Could this month have gone by any faster? Feels like just yesterday we were complaining about the endless days of January. So, how to see this month out in style? You can hit up a farm to learn more about sugaring; stop by the harbor for a daytime island jaunt; you can also party with some ice luge cocktails, celebrate Black opera history, and start stockpiling for Purim. And have we mentioned that Sullivan’s reopens this Saturday? Here’s everything fun you can do in Boston this weekend.

Weekend-long
Mamaleh’s
If you seek some epic Hamantaschen for Purim this year, we say place your order now. Mamaleh’s is once more whipping up three different fillings: Black and White Poppy Seed, Black Cherry, and Chocolate Tahini. Plus, a portion of every sale goes to support Polish Humanitarian Action to help them assist Ukrainian refugees at the Polish border.
Cost: $2.25 each; $24 for a dozen

Friday, February 24
Museum of Science
Boston Globe columnist Jenée Osterheldt created her “Beautiful Resistance” series to celebrate Boston Blackness in all its glory—and now she’s bringing her storytelling to the live stage. The evening celebrates both Black History Month and Women’s History Month and includes conversations with Jessicah Pierre, chief of communications for the City of Boston, and Melisa Valdez, in-house host for the Boston Celtics. If you get there early, you can catch a set from local R&N act SILK.
Cost: Free

Saturday, February 25
Drumlin Farm
We all know that sap turns into syrup, but do we know how? Get the sap-to-nuts low-down during a daytime workshop that includes a visit with the farm’s sugar maples. Have we mentioned that the farm starts selling its own maple syrup in mid-March?
Cost: $22 ($18 for members)

Saturday, February 25
Burren
Settle in for some beers and some stories. This month, Opera on Tap digs deep into classical Black vocalists, composers, and musicians both past and present. And in keeping with OOT tradition, there will be some salacious tales mixed in with the artistic homage.
Cost: $20 suggestion donation

Saturday, February 25
Long Wharf North
It’s not exactly a tropical getaway, but you’ll still be on island time during a morning trip to one of the largest harbor archipelagos. Spend a few hours tracking some island creatures with a hot beverage in hand (bring binoculars and lunch) before retreating back to the heated ferry.
Cost: $30

Sunday, February 26
Harvest
Why should summer have all the fun? The annual Harvest party is back, finally, with an ‘80s-themed apres ski party (haul out that neon!) that includes ice luge drinks, shotskis, booze-soaked snow cones, and lodge-themed snacks. As always, a portion of ticket proceeds goes to Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts.
Cost: $60

Weekend-long
Emerald Necklace
We’ve spent enough time loafing on the couch this winter—it’s time to get outside. For the next six weeks, trees throughout the Emerald Necklace’s 1,100-plus park system will be lit up bright green from dusk until 9 pm. Take a stroll while taking it all in.
